Posted By: Ljsingh / Apr 8, 2015 / Google, Spying

Ever wondered about being snooped online by the big tech companies? Does it raise an alarm in your head? Yes, big tech giants from Amazon to Apple keeps a record of your online activities but no one does it like, Google. The most important word toddlers learn these days after mom and dad is Google. For almost every online user, internet is google and google is internet. The tech company has hundreds of tools for it's users which make their life simpler day after day. But convenience comes at a price, in return google tracks your online activity. It makes a record of your activities.

Google profile

Google makes a profile for it's every new user on the basis on his/her activities upon the services such as Gmail, youtube, maps etc they use. The categories are divided on the basis of age & gender. This information is asked when you create a new account on google tools. The information will be filtered to target better ads at you. You can change the settings to opt out from being tracked for ads targets but you'll still be seeing the ads on your page with any specific target of your interests.

Often you don't realise that google has an option in it's settings to turn off the monitoring of your online history which means that by default it keeps on collecting all the data of your browsing history. It keeps this log file of your every visit to any website through the help of it's search engine with itself as a record.

Tracking becomes realtime when someone knows where you are. Users of Android smartphones who use location services gives away easy access to google which in tracks your whereabouts as regularly as possible. This falls into the category of the type of metadata, or descriptive information about what you do, that the NSA was so interested in collecting. It doesn't really have all the exact places you've visited but it does make an assessment of your entire journey.

Now that you have come to realisation of the big daddy watching you, be little careful the next time use these services. Study the implications & manage your settings very carefully.
